Description
Okuma PSU-60-ACL U:2.01 R:303 DC Servo Power Supply Unit 60kW U3103-0006-001R Rebuilt
Up for sale is a professional-grade, fully rebuilt
Okuma PSU-60-ACL DC Servo Power Supply Unit
. This heavy-duty power supply is engineered for demanding Okuma CNC machine tools and industrial servo drive applications. It converts incoming three-phase AC power into a highly stable high-voltage DC bus output, ensuring precision velocity and position control for attached high-capacity servo motor modules.
Core Technical Differences
Integrated Harmonic Filtering (-ACL variant):
The
PSU-60-ACL
is designed to mitigate massive electrical noise. Drawing power for a 60kW system causes substantial voltage distortion on the factory grid. The integrated reactor choke stabilizes the incoming 3-phase AC voltage, suppresses high-frequency harmonics, and shields the internal inverter circuits (such as Okuma MIV drives) from damage.
Modular Separation (Standard variant):
The standalone
PSU-60
focuses purely on rectifying incoming
3-phase 400Vâ480V AC
power into a high-voltage
DC bus link
(typically outputs
DC 566Vâ679V
to feed high-voltage drives). Using this unit requires an external, separately mounted AC choke coil (such as Okuma part 1006-2284 or similar) wired inside the electrical cabinet.

Replacing an
Okuma PSU-60
with a
PSU-60-ACL
is
highly possible and common when sourcing emergency spares, but it is
not a drop-in physical swap
. Because the standard
PSU-60
uses an external choke mounted elsewhere in the electrical cabinet, while the
PSU-60-ACL
has the choke integrated inside its own housing, you must perform specific mechanical and electrical modifications to prevent immediate drive alarms or hardware damage
.
If replacing an Okuma PSU-60 with a PSU-60-ACL
Bypassing the Existing External Choke
On your original
PSU-60
setup, the incoming 3-phase AC power runs from the main circuit breaker/contactor, through an external AC choke coil (typically Okuma part
1006-2284 or MPS60-ACL), and then into the power supply's AC input terminals (L1, L2, L3).
Because your new
PSU-60-ACL
already contains its own choke coils, running power through both chokes will cause an excessive voltage drop under load, resulting in immediate
DC Bus Undervoltage
or
MIV Inverter Faults
during heavy spindle acceleration.
Disconnect the External Choke:
Disconnect the heavy-gauge wires going to the existing standalone choke coil in the cabinet.
Route Power Directly:
Re-route the incoming 3-phase AC source lines directly to the main input terminals of the new
PSU-60-ACL
.
Physical Removal:
You can leave the old choke bolted into the back of the cabinet as dead weight, or remove it entirely to reclaim panel space.
3. Wiring and Control Jumpers
Input and DC Bus (L1/L2/L3 and P/N):
Connect your 3-phase AC input lines to L1, L2, and L3. Connect the heavy DC bus bars or cables to the
P
and
N
terminals which daisy-chain out to your MIV servo and spindle drives.
Converter Link (CN1):
Plug the standard fiber-optic or serial control link cable back into the
CN1
port. This allows the OSP control platform (such as P200 or P300) to monitor the power supply status.
ID Selector Jumpers (If Applicable):
Check the small rotary ID switches or pin jumpers on the upper control card of both units
. Ensure the switch settings on the replacement
PSU-60-ACL
exactly match the position of those on the old
PSU-60
so the machine's NC executive software recognizes the unit properly
.
4. Post-Installation Verification
Turn on main control power
without
enabling the machine's hydraulics or emergency stop string.
Check the built-in LED status display on the face of the
PSU-60-ACL
. It should show a normal standby status (typically a steady dot or code indicating ready) and should
not
flash an "AL" or numerical fault code.
Release the E-stop and power up the drives. Monitor the DC bus voltage diagnostic page on your Okuma OSP screen while gently spinning the spindle to ensure the power regeneration path is stable.
